American Laser debuts processing heads for fiber laser welding

American Laser Enterprises introduced a line of processing heads for fiber-laser-based welding applications. The line is lightweight and highly configurable, according to the company.
The line offers modular components that allow easy switching to cutting or cladding and the line also has a small footprint.
The laser offers up to 8,000W, 1" (25.4mm) optics, a 0.75" (19mm) clear aperture and a minimum focal length of 3.5" (88.9mm). It also offers straight and 90° configurations, accepts all fiber connections and requires no special tools, according to the company.
Other features include:
- QBH/RQB interlocked fiber connector and collimator,
- CCD through-the-lens viewing,
- optional airknife,
- water cooling,
- adjustable lens holder,
- lens cartridge system,
- cover glass cartridge,
- cross jet,
- modular components, and
- aluminum construction.
