GF AgieCharmilles offers auto wire changer on CUT 2000/3000 wire EDMs

GF AgieCharmilles, Lincolnshire, Ill., offers the CUT 2000 and CUT 3000 wire-cutting EDM machines with an optional third-generation automatic wire changer.

The CUT 2000, with external dimensions of 2,095mm x 3,570mm x 2,232mm, accommodates an optional third-generation automatic wire changer to significantly increase productivity, speed and cost efficiency.

The CUT 3000, featuring external dimensions of 2,685mm x 3,656mm x 2,232mm, also can integrate an optional third-generation automatic wire changer that enables the use of wires of different diameters and materials.

The automatic wire changer allows users to push performance limits, allowing thin wire to be used to cut thicker parts. For instance, an 80mm-thick punch can be efficiently cut with 0.1mm wire when the main cut is done with a larger diameter wire. This is said to result in more power and speed.

The CUT 2000 and 3000 machines, the successors of GF AgieCharmilles’ Vertex range, accommodates wires as thin as 0.050mm in diameter to cut microparts and tiny details.

Equipped with an efficient, digital Intelligent Power Generator and Variocut, the CUT 2000 and 3000 machines guarantee reliable machining of even the most complex parts, providing a surface finish as fine as R_a 0.05μm.
