MEMS-based ski goggles deemed 'cool'
The Micro Optics Display for Alpine ski goggles showcased in this video made the finalist list of cool MEMS-equipped products on display at the MEMS Executive Congress held earlier this month in California.
The first “MEMS Technology Showcase” held at the gathering coordinated by MEMS Industry Group gave attendees "an intimate look at some of the most unique MEMS-enabled applications in the business," according to MIG. "After a competitive application process, MIG selected seven finalists that show how MEMS enhances the user experience with electronic devices."
The MOD, produced by Recon Instruments, Vancouver, BC, provides a real-time information heads-up display via an adjustable, full-color, widescreen micro LCD that includes speed, jump airtime, GPS location, vertical distance traveled, total distance traveled, temperature, altitude and time.
