Sodick introduces K series of small-hole EDM machines
Sodick Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., offers four options in its K series of small-hole EDM machines, which each feature the company's latest servo technology said to provide twice the machining speeds compared with previous models.
- The high-speed K1C, intended for carbide and heat-treated workpieces, has an X, Y and Z axis travel of 200mm, 300mm and 300mm, respectively.
- With its linear motor, the K1BL is said to be ideal for boring high-precision holes into hard to machine materials. The EDM machine has X, Y and Z axis travels of 120mm, 150mm and 300mm, respectively.
- Intended for precision small-hole drilling, the K3BL features X, Y and Z axis travels of 300mm, 200mm and 300mm, respectively.
- The high-speed K3HN, suitable for carbide and heat-treated workpieces, is often used as a production machine to EDM start holes in die plates. The machine's X, Y and Z axis travels are 300mm, 400mm and 300mm, respectively.
