TUT features microlaser micromachining workstation

Jan. 18, 2011—The Department of Production Engineering at Tampere University of Technology (TUT), Tampere, Finland, which concentrates on education and research in the field of discrete production, recently added a video to YouTube featuring its TUT — Microlaser Platform.

The microlaser platform is a complete laser micromachining workstation that accepts several different lasers, according to TUT's YouTube post. The highest single-axis velocity of the system is 2400mm/s with acceleration up to 2g. System path velocity is 500 mm/s, while maintaining a path accuracy of ±2µm. Check out the TUT video below.
