Ultrafast amplifier

The Spirit ultrafast amplifier is part of Newport Corp.'s Spectra-Physics line.

Spirit is a compact, industrial-grade, ultrafast amplifier with adjustable repetition rates up to 1MHz. Introduced in January and part of Newport Corp.’s Spectra-Physics brand, the Spirit laser reportedly offers the high-repetition rates needed for micromachining of medical devices, nanostructuring, pump-probe experiments and certain time-resolved science applications.

According to Newport, “the Spirit platform offers impressive versatility to serve the needs of scientific and industrial customers. The laser’s high average power (>4W) and high-repetition rate enable fast data acquisition in complex time-resolved spectroscopy experiments. Pulse energy and repetition rate adjustability (50 kHz – 1 MHz) make the Spirit laser an ideal femtosecond micromachining processing tool.” Fully automated and computer-controlled, the Spirit laser ensures dependable, true turnkey day-to-day operation, reports the manufacturer.
