The Model 310-S 3-axis micromilling machine from Microlution Inc. is for producing prototype and low-volume parts under 2½". The working volumes for the X, Y and Z axes are 2½" each. The machine, which costs less than $90,000, features a 160,000-rpm air-powered spindle, granite support structures, open-architecture CNC, and both AC linear motors and Heidenhain linear optical encoders on the X, Y and Z stages. The positioning accuracy is 1 micron, the resolution is 0.02 microns, and the maximum acceleration is 5G.

It also performs plating, coating and stamping of parts.

It is widely used either as a stand-alone technology or in combination with other technologies.”

Intended for micromachining and precision marking, the PicoSpark is said to have a 25 percent higher repetition rate and 25 percent shorter pulse compared to previous versions.
