About Marubeni Citizen-Cincom Inc.

Marubeni Citizen-Cincom (MCC) was founded in 1984 to market and service Citizen’s CINCOM family of Swiss-type turning centers. This venture represents the amalgamation of two of Japan’s largest and most highly regarded companies: Marubeni Corp. and Citizen Watch Company.

Marubeni Corp. began operation 150 years ago as a rural trading company specializing in yarn and textiles. Today it is one of world’s largest companies with over 20,000 employees throughout the world. Citizen is best known as the manufacturer of high-precision timepieces, including the smallest watch, the thinnest watch and the most accurate watch available today. Its expertise, however, extends beyond watch manufacture, and includes television sets, office equipment, computers and audio-visual equipment.

Citizen’s vertical integration has led to the development of advanced production equipment. Among these are the highly precise, highly versatile Swiss-type turning centers known in the trade as CINCOM (CItizen Numerically COntrolled Machines).

Since its inception, MCC has successfully made CINCOM machines the most widely accepted Swiss-type turning centers in the world. Ranging from 4mm to 32mm in workpiece diameter, these machines are used extensively in the automotive, aerospace, medical, communication and digital appliance industries, as well as job shops of all sizes. Manufacturing applications include:

• Highly sophisticated parts required for state-of-the-art medical equipment, endoscopes and implants;
• Cellular phones, PDAs and optical fibers;
• TVs, PCs, DVD recorders, digital cameras and game machines;
• Tools, valves and fasteners;
• Semiconductor and hard disk manufacturing equipment;
• Pneumatic systems;
• Engines, driving and steering parts, and brakes.
  

MCC is headquartered in Allendale, N.J., and maintains sales-service offices in both California and Illinois. These three offices are responsible for supporting a network of distributors located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.
