The New Hampshire Business Review reports on a business in the state that has tapped into the growing micro-laser machining market and thrived, despite the troubled economy.

Founded in 1994, Manchester-based JPSA originally was a consulting company that helped customers with excimer laser technology. But the company has since expanded into the production and installation of excimer and diode-pumped industrial laser systems that can handle micromachining applications.
Two of the company’s growth areas have been LED and solar panel manufacturing. In addition, JPSA provides micromachining for medical device applications, such as stents, catheters and implantable devices.
According to Charlie Cuneo, JPSA president, because the company has targeted high-growth areas, both its sales and number of employees has grown. “We’ve been really well-positioned this year in high-growth market opportunities that have helped us to avoid being severely impacted by the recession,” said Cuneo.
